I'm going to go have to go against the grain on this one.

As the late great Barry White (and the not so late or great Michelle Gayle) once said - Sweetness is my weakness. And this wine is powerful, distinctive but slightly too bitter for my sweet tooth.

Unless they are offset with an abundance of sugar I don't particularly enjoy the flavours of black coffee, dark chocolate or liquorice. This bad boy is bursting with all three.

I didn't dislike the wine - there's plenty of dark, earthy fruits and one of the most enticing noses I've had the pleasure of nosing. It's big, warming and well crafted.

I've rated 3 out of 5 which isn't bad but you may have gathered by now it just didn't hit my sweet spot.

I'd be happy to drink more of this little beauty! So, in the search for new highs and hopefully not new lows...

To explain, if this were a high school disco and also viewed from a male perspective, it doesn't say - wow, pick me, I am the best, the prettiest and 'oh I am also so the bitchiest, but whatever! - however it does say pick me, and you will have a night of unfussed, girl-next-door type fun...

This wine is not going to offend, but it should win over some friends - as it is another smooth, easy drinking, non-complex wine from the Fabricio Orlando stable.

I found this to be very pleasant, easy drinking, perfectly satisfying - but not stunning. This is the last of my three, one was corked, one was bordering on having the same affliction but might have been saved by it's immaturity, and so actually tonight's was the best.

That has not put me off, as I would be quite happy to try this again. Maybe with a little more maturity too, it would become more rounded. For now it is a very pleasant, easy going, non-complex wine that just deserves to be enjoyed rather than over-analysed.

I enjoyed Fabricio's wines at Lords when we were trying to find the unknown Rising Star from Argentina, and whilst his wines didn't get to the tape first, they were commendable!

This blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Bonarda boasting a 14% abv, promised to be a tasty little number. Another cracking wine to look at in the glass, with a deep, dark and quite dense appearance, it exudes a nice bouquet when you take a hooterful - just fruitilicious, with some definite hints of warm alcohol lurking in there too.

Dark berry fruit flavours hit the palate, something a little vegetal too, quite smooth and comforting, and -post-food - ending with a slightly sharp tang along with the chocolate notes on a medium finish.

It went well with the leftovers of our moroccan lamb meal from last night. Yes, quite happy with this one!

Big, bouncy Cab Sav. Plenty of fruit flavours with lots of depth and just a hint of spiceness.
Not a typical Cab Sav; certainly doesn't taste like wines west of the Andes.
Really enjoyed it!
