Conti Di Lucca Chianti Riserva 2006
by Alessandro Botter

  • The most popular Italian wine outside Italy, and one you must try!
  • Primarily Sangiovese with a few other Tuscan grapes for good measure, this Chianti is a great example of the famous Italian wine
  • "I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti,"-Hannibal Lecter. A crazy film character he may be, but at least he knows good wine. We recommend you try this one with a Pizza instead. Avoids bad impressions at the dinner table

"We believe just like our grandfather did that our future success really lies in making the most of the fabulous indiginous grapes our region has to offer. Yes we have had many experiments with grapes from all over the world but time and again the ones we end up pouring into our own glasses at the end of the day are the traditional grapes my grandfather started growing all those years ago. For many in the UK I know the Italian grape names may seem strange, unfamiliar and tricky to pronounce (especially after a few glasses) but please do try them. I am proud of every drop!"

This is the first chianti I've had from Naked Wines so I've nothing to compare it too. That said, this wine was smooth and delicious, packed with flavour. This one made to my re-order list without any difficulty

Not sure if I liked this one or not ... it had an odd aftertaste. Better than most chianti's though.

My first choice of Italian wine for pizza!
Having compared it with others in the same meal, this one always wins.
I can only dream of being in Italy. Love them both! Italy and this wine...
Salute Alessandro!

Very disappointing. Wine had little bouquet, very thin on the palette and lacked fruit I would normally associate with Chianti.
