Thirsty Thursday

Thirsty Thursday

Thirsty Thursday is a fun and interactive way to pick the wines that we're going to sell. If the wine gets the trusty Archangel stamp of approval, we'll give the winemaker a MarketPlace slot.

Hi everyone, the latest Thirsty Thursday success story is now live... and fair play to you AA's for driving a hard bargain!

If you enjoyed Jonathan's wine it would be great if you could head over to the MarketPlace page and drum up some support.

Cheers
Eamon

Hi everyone,

Work got in the way of last weeks tasting again but we did try the Waterfall Road at the weekend. We shared a glass and didn't manage to finish it which I believe is a first for us. Couldn't pick up any aromas and the taste was bland; can't say how much it should cost as I wouldn't buy it, sorry.

Hello all,

Shockingly, I'm well behind on my Thirsty Thursday wines (*shakes fist at work*).

Just had then Waterfall Road last night. Two out of three said "no thanks" and I thought it was pretty harmless but a bit blah. We're not big white drinkers so we're probably not best placed to judge whether it's great or not. Would not buy it, but then again the only white I buy regularly is Benjamin's Picpoul.

Jeff + family.

Hi all! Sorry I missed the chat session on Thursday - I was working late again. I tasted this wine last night, without food and found it pleasant, albeit lacking the usual freshness and flavour that I enjoy in white wine. Did I like it? I'm not sure. I certainly didn't dislike it and I imagine it would make a refreshing change in summer. I wouldn't pay more than £6-7 a bottle for this... but at that price I probably would buy it once in a while.

Sorry for my late posting on this one as I lost my connection during the Thursday chat. I enjoyed this wine and can see why it is a bit 'love or hate'.

I think its very light straw colour shows the minerality within which causes the disparity in opinion. Like many on here I enjoy the subtlety of French wines rather than a fruit explosion but its always nice to have the option of either. With the light alcohol content I think this a great wine for the summer and would be happy to buy if it was around the £7/8 mark
