Not usually my thing but this went down well with the whole family

My family has been making wine here in Orange, New South Wales, for 3 generations.
The whole thing was kicked off by Carmelo, who immigrated here from Sicily. He has the vision and the drive to get together a group of small growers, who were all growing grapes for the big boys, to stand on their own two feet and make their own wine.

I bought this as a 'something different' type of wine. It wasn't cheap at £5.49 for 1/2 a bottle (and that was the sale price). We had it at the end of a meal with dessert. Everyone wanted to know what it was because they liked it but didn't know why. It was wonderfully thick and sweet but with a perfect amount of acidity. If you want a different type of wine this is a great choice, but don't buy it to drink in front of the TV.
